The Fire Strategy Company: experts at your service
FSC's principal engineer is Russell Timpson, a nationally recognised expert in airport fire safety. 

Russ was formerly Group Fire Strategy Manager for BAA plc that operates no less than seven UK and eight international airports and also Head of Safety for Virgin Atlantic Airways. Russ, a Chartered Fire Engineer and Registered Safety Practitioner, is joined at FSC by Associate Fire Engineers and Safety Practitioners drawn from a wide variety of industrial and aviation backgrounds.  Check out our team members on the Meet the Team page.

FSC has access to two of the UK's leading university departments, supplying high-end computer facilities for computational fluid-dynamic analysis.

Your report from The Fire Strategy Company
Your premises will be fully assessed by our experts in person, who will carry out fire risk mapping for your entire premises and its component parts.  FSC can also undertake a Hot Smoke Test for your premises, ensuring the very highest standards of analysis in your report.

Present your FSC report to insurers and they will recognise you as a client who has properly assessed and managed your fire strategy.  In turn, they should recognise this in preferential rates for your buildings’ insurance.

Our Past
The Fire Strategy Company was established in 2004 by Russ Timpson, the former Group Fire Safety Manager of BAA.  From the company’s inception, Russ’ aim was to not only meet but exceed customer expectations in the provision of world class solutions to fire risk challenges.

On all our projects we have quickly formed productive working relationships with other design team members and clients.  Furthermore, we believe that the Fire Service background of many of our consultants, backed-up with appropriate qualifications and private-sector experience, places us in an enviable position when discussing proposals with approving authorities.

Our Present
We are constantly balancing the business demand for expansion with our aim to provide a personal, dynamic service on all of our projects.  As a result, the company remains a relatively small team of experienced and highly qualified fire engineering consultants; a significant factor limiting growth is our unrelenting requirement to recruit only the most exception engineers. 

Our small size and team dynamic puts us in an excellent position to deliver our core aspirations:

Through careful planning we will expand not only our consultancy and engineering services, but also the range of services we are able to offer.  New services, driven by the needs expressed by our clients, will include hot smoke tests, an ability to undertake audits of passive fire protection measures and the supply of fire safety equipment.
We are in constant communication with some of the world’s leading fire researchers at prestigious universities, putting us at the forefront of the latest fire engineering developments and enabling us to develop and provide the latest techniques.
