Travel Details

Rail
The most convenient railway station to Manston is Ramsgate, which is just one and a half miles from the Training Centre at Manston.  The address of the station is, Ramsgate Station, Station Approach, Ramsgate (08457 484950).  There are up to four train departures each hour on weekdays to Ramsgate from London Charing Cross, with a journey time of just over two hours for the direct train.  Train times and other information are available at www.nationalrail.co.uk

Air
Kent International Airport, Manston, is currently offering only limited passenger services; however, future plans, when fully implemented, will provide excellent links to several UK destinations.  In the meantime flights to London Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted all link into the national rail network.

Car
From Canterbury.  Take the A28, signposted Margate, and continue for 9 miles.  On entering Sarre, at the mini roundabout, turn right onto the A253, signposted Ramsgate.  At the Monkton roundabout take 3rd exit onto the A299 signposted Ramsgate.  At the next roundabout (Minster) turn left onto the B2048 and then right at the next roundabout onto the B2190.  At the T junction turn right and immediately left; the RAF Manston Museum will be on your right.  The entrance to the DFTDC Manston is 100m on the left.
From Channel Tunnel.  Follow the signs for A20 Dover, and continue on the A20 for 15 miles.  Continue through Dover and at the docks roundabout turn right onto the A2.  Take the A256 signposted Ramsgate and continue over 7 roundabouts following signs for Ramsgate.  After passing the Pegwell Bay Viking Ship cross the first roundabout and then right at the second, signposted Margate A256.  At the next roundabout turn left onto the B2050 signposted Manston.  After passing the International Airport which will be on the left, turn right at the RAF Manston Aircraft Museum.  The entrance to DFTDC Manston is 100m on the left.
